Terra Nova

performs an infectious blend of Latin Jazz at the

Town Hall Theatre in Quincy

Doors open at 7:30 with the concert beginning at 8pm.

Terra Nova is a Latin Jazz group that evolved under the direction of Robert Drake over the course of 4 years of a steady gig in Truckee at the Bar of America. Presenting an exciting signature mix of rhythms from Brazil, Cuba, Spain, New Orleans and Oakland. Terra Nova features songs will range from the Beatles to Miles Davis to Frank Sinatra and Duke Ellington.

The Players:

Bobby Drake began his musical career almost 30 years ago playing his first gigs at Moon's Restaurant. He also put together numerous classical and jazz concerts for the Plumas Arts at places like Quincy Elementary and the Vets Hall for audiences of all ages. Since those days he has performed in Russia, South Africa, New Zealand, Hawaii, Australia, Mexico, Costa Rica and even in Sloat.

With Terra Nova since it's inception is veteran percussionist Arturo Franco, who grew up in the SF Bay Area and studied and worked with several members of Santana.

Drummer Tony Savage, has been a Reno jazz legend for over 30 years. He is the musical director of the Reno Jazz Orchestra and is currently touring with Englebert Humperdinck.

Bassist Steve Kershisnik, toured for many years with Tom Jones and was “during his LA Years” one of Southern California's top session players.

The group's trumpeter, Tony Cataldo, the band's youngest member recognized in 2006 with a national award in jazz award.

In 2004 Jackie Landrum brought her engaging, warm presence and an amazingly soulful, sensual voice, to the group.

You can also expect some special guest appearances by local musicians Mark Satterfield and Braden Smith.

General Admission is $15, with Plumas Arts members receiving a discounted ticket price of $12.
