ALMANOR ART SHOW FEATURES
HOME GROWN MUSIC

If you only attend one art show this busy summer, make sure it is the best one that Plumas County has to offer: the Almanor Art Show on August 2nd & 3rd.

The cool and lavish green Collins Pine Lawn on Hwy 36 in Chester showcases dozens of fine artists offering a diversity of work - including paintings, drawings, sculpture, pottery, photography, clothing, metal work, wood turnings, jewelry, furniture, country crafts and more in a variety of price ranges. Think holiday shopping in August!

The show opens at 10am both Saturday and Sunday.

Closing hours are 5pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday.

There is no admission price to attend.

Food booths will also be on hand to offer you a fine selection of lunch options, coffee and other iced drink drinks and even gelato.

The afternoons will also be filled with music featuring a variety of talented musicians also from Plumas & Lassen counties. The music schedule follows.

SATURDAY, August 2

Noon - 3pm: DUTCH TREAT

Dutch Treat is the creation of two talented entertainers, Julianne Pepetone & Thomas Braun. Julianne's powerful and nuanced vocals, coupled with Tom's unique musical arrangements, turn old standards into new delights for fresh ears. Add a dash of comedy plus a playful approach to an audience to songs like 'I've Got you Under My Skin', 'Fly Me To The Moon' and the like and you have a perfect fit for a summer afternoon performance. You may contact them on their website at http://www.dutchtreatmusic.com

3 - 5pm: STICKS & STRAW

Sticks and Straw is a homegrown band that brings you countrified Bluegrass, much of it in the form of original tunes penned by Rob Steen. Steen provides vocals, plays mandolin and banjo. Merle Salvador plays bass and special guest Ken Cawley plays dobro with Heidi Steen accompanying on vocal and washboard.

SUNDAY, August 3

Noon - 2pm: DUTCH TREAT

2pm - 4pm: THE USUAL SUSPECTS

Put together a collection of some of the county's most talented (and entertaining) musicians playing Bluegrass, throw in some folk and maybe Americana Blues tunes, add dobro, bass and guitar and you get a couple hours of fun music that will lighten your heart and get your toes tappin'. Ken Cawley, Barney Harchis and Joe Tomaselli will be on hand and we'll see who comes along with them.

Plumas Arts, incorporated in 1981 as a 501c3 nonprofit, is designated by the Plumas County Board of Supervisors to serve as the county's primary arts agency and the local representative to the California Arts Council's State-Local Partnership Program. As a member-supported community service group, Plumas Arts uses your annual donations to keep our region rich in a variety of cultural and educational programs which enhance both the soul of the creative arts and the local economy.
